About Charlie Wilcox
[charlie@pcthike.org]

I was born in Anaheim, CA, and I currently reside is Yorba Linda, CA. When I was younger I played baseball for 8 years in little league and my favorite team is the Anaheim Angels. I graduated from Esperanza High School and I am currently enrolled in the Fire Technology program at Santa Ana College where I have completed 29.8 units and I am waiting to get into the Fire Academy.

I am an Eagle Scout in Troop 1740, a Silver Award recipient in Crew 2402, and a Vigil member in The Order of the Arrow, in Wiatava Lodge. I have worked at a Mataguay Summer Scout summer camp for the past 6 summers. There I have been through many different positions from fire department instructor, teaching fire safety, to head camp commissioner.

I enjoy mountain biking, camping, and backpacking. This summer I went to Northern Tier, located in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Minnesota. For that 2-week period we fixed a portage trail that was nearly ¼ mile long and canoed 180 miles. I got my EMT certification this last semester; so don’t worry about us getting hurt, Mom.

If you would like to contact me during this hike please don’t call my house or cell phone, just write me an email or leave a comment on one of our journal entries.
